USANA Health Sciences started from one man’s vision back in 1992, and that man is Dr. Myron Wentz. He is a microbiologist and immunologist who founded Gull Laboratories in 1974. He came from a family with many health related losses. His father passed away from a heart attack during Dr. Wentz’s teenage years. While he was devoting himself to Gull Laboratories, he lost his mother to breast cancer and his brother also passed away from sickness during that time. Ever since turning 50, Dr. Wentz has created many meaningful works from his tragic beginning that inspired his vision to help others.
The birth of USANA health sciences came when he had an light bulb moment that enabled him to go from passively helping patients with test kits to proactively helping at a cellular level. He knew that in order to create the test kit, he had to create a cell cultural environment that maintains cells in a healthy state without any signs of degeneration. He realized that he could apply these concepts, the comprehensive knowledge and experience, to help the body repair and heal on a cellular level. Since the creation of USANA, Dr. Myron Wentz also founded the world-class functional medical center called Sanoviv Medical Institute, numerous Wentz Mercy Centers, other Medical Centers around the world, and much more.
